Consumers ‘look to buy green cars’
An increasing number of Britons are looking to purchase eco-friendly cars, according to a new study.
Research by AA Personal Loans reveals that the proportion of consumers choosing a car based on environmental grounds has risen from six per cent to 20 per cent over the past year.
However, director of personal loans Lloyd East, claimed that too many motorists are taking out a showroom finance deal instead of opting for a low rate loan.
Mr East said: "The savvyness people show in the cost of running a car is not mirrored in how they buy them.
"Too many people take expensive forecourt finance, not shopping around for a good deal. Convenience is costing Brits millions every year."
The study also revealed a growing number of drivers are looking for "efficient cars that are cheap to run, insure and maintain".
According to sponsors of the Banking Code, consumers are set to receive renewed advice on taking out the best loan for them.
