EU mobile caps ‘could help manage debt’
The announcement that the European Union is to implement caps on charges for mobile phone calls across the continent could aid debt management, it has been revealed.
According to SimplySwitch.com, the move - which is set to come into effect from July 1st - may mean Britons returning from holiday will not receive a "nasty shock" when they open their mobile phone bills, this in turn could help their attempts to at managing their money and unsecured loan repayments.
Founder Karen Darby said: "Roaming charges have been far too high for far too long and something had to be done.
"Customers have been suffering at the hands of operators who’ve been making up to £5.7 billion a year through extortionate fees for overseas calls."
Meanwhile, research from the price comparison website revealed that 77 per cent of British mobile users do not know how much they are paying for making or receiving calls while abroad.
Earlier today, Moneyfacts.co.uk suggested that those who do not shop around for a competitive deal on their currency exchange could be needlessly losing out on money which could help them with personal loan repayments.
